Description
• Position: Senior Data Engineer o Python and SQL skills; very technical; this role is housed in product o Team - commercial product analytics team; have people from both sides of the house o Building a rating engine and pulling data Tell me about the team this person will be joining and the reasoning for the opening? • Manager is a people manager • Software development within business context • 10 other people working on it - actuaries and product analysts • Large investment from the department - could benefit from having a key engineer who can dedicate their time to it Project Overview: Housed within product Commercial product analytics team Improve efficiency within the organization Building a reading engine Pulling policy data Scrappy team People building data sets Other engineers writing python code Pick it up and manipulate Backend system that they are building Team: 10 other people working on it Actuaries and Analysts Must Haves: Python SQL Excel GCP (Any cloud works) Technology stack (top 3): • Primary/Key Tech Stack: o Python, SQL, building out new tools, product/business mentality, excel experience, general data engineering skills o Data is in GCP - some people are building data sets and in GCP all the time and then others who are writing python and pulling info into the cloud § They are all learning GCP on the team; wouldn't expect them to know exactly how AmFam is utilizing it o More on the scripting skillset that is needed o Pick up data from GCP and manipulate it o Senior level - some design suggestions would be helpful o More of a backend of this process; people building dashboards (separate team working on that); his team is providing a data set to this data pipeline - taking an input of policy data (raw data); customizing it and then that feeds into another pipeline o A lot of this is new to their department as well Nice to haves: Offer design suggestions Insurance Required Skills : NO SUBVENDING Must Haves: Python SQL Excel GCP (Any cloud works) Nice to haves: Offer design suggestions Insurance REMOTE Background Check :Yes Drug Screen :Yes Notes : Selling points for candidate :REMOTE Project Verification Info :The information provided below is for Apex Systems AV use only and is not to be distributed publicly, or to any third party.
