We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our International Reinsurance Team in Zurich as a full-time Financial Risks Underwriter, whose primary tasks will be supporting our Senior Underwriters on European accounts and helping develop selectively our worldwide book of business. Such professional will report to the Global Head of Financial Risks.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Underwriting and pricing Financial Risks - markedly Credit, Surety, and Political Risks treaties - in accordance with Everest Re guidelines.
  • Joining Senior Underwriters at industry events and market visits - to develop and maintain the relationships with cedents and brokers - and producing the related discussion notes.
  • Providing an efficient, high quality data entry and working closely with Underwriting Assistants.
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with Pricing Actuaries.
  • Ensuring good communication and cooperation with Reserving Actuaries.
  • Reviewing/processing claims with Senior Underwriters and Claims Department in accordance with Everest Re guidelines.
  • Undergoing the training required for the current role and for future growth.
  • Ensuring good communication with accounting to facilitate exchanges where needed.
  • Contributing to worldwide group projects in cross functional teams.


Your profile:
  • University degree in a relevant subject or a comparable recognised insurance qualification.
  • 5+ years of reinsurance underwriting in Financial Risks, primary experience would be a bonus.
  • Enthusiastic and forward-looking mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, in order to best deal with business partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Technical, analytical and result oriented mind.
  • Proficient and effective knowledge of MS-Office products, especially Excel.
  • Language skills: very good command of English is a prerequisite. Additional language(s) - markedly Spanish and French - would be an advantage.
