Career Opportunity Senior Excess Casualty Pricing Actuary Hybrid midtown NYC

Our client, a multibillion global P&C Insurance company is seeking an Excess Casualty Pricing Actuary to join their North America Pricing team. This role will focus on the pricing of Casualty products including Excess Casualty, General Liability, and Environmental. As the pricing lead, this person will serve as the principal liaison between the pricing team and the underwriters. The selected candidate will have opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects and contribute to the overarching goals of the department.

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with the underwriters on strategic initiatives.
• Conduct profitability studies to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
• Collaborate with underwriters to identify pockets of opportunity and remediate underperforming segments.
• Quantify the impact of prior underwriting changes and assess new strategies to improve the portfolio.
• Build predictive models utilizing a mix of internal and external data to deepen business insights.
• Develop and oversee dashboards showcasing key metrics such as rate adjustments, business composition, loss trends, etc.
• Design and oversee data pipelines to improve the team’s analytics capabilities.
• Continuously review and refine the company's rating and pricing models to ensure they are current, accurate, and consistent.
• Provide transactional support as necessary.
• Periodically participate in projects involving other products and group pricing initiatives, ensuring varied exposure and skill enhancement.
• Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry trends to improve existing processes and capabilities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
• FCAS or near FCAS qualification preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience
• Prior experience with Construction and/or Excess Casualty is preferred.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Deep familiarity with standard actuarial methods and best practices.
• Proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language (Python, R, SQL, DAX is a plus).
• Ability to independently handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• An individual who is curious, adaptive, open to innovative solutions, and keen on learning is highly desired.
