Apex Systems is looking for a REMOTE Actuarial Business Analyst. This is a contract through the end of the year. Potential extension into 2025.
**Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Business Analyst with expertise in leveraging AWS technologies to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of actuarial knowledge, business analysis proficiency, and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (nice to have). This role offers the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions in the insurance and financial services industry.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions leveraging AWS services.
2. Utilize actuarial methodologies and statistical techniques to analyze data and derive insights for business decision-making.
3. Design, develop, and maintain actuarial models and algorithms to support pricing, risk assessment, and financial forecasting.
4. Implement scalable and efficient data pipelines using AWS tools such as S3, Glue, and Athena for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
5. Apply machine learning techniques to enhance actuarial models and improve predictive accuracy.
6. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of actuarial processes running on AWS infrastructure.
7. Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to integrate actuarial solutions into existing systems and applications.
8. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in actuarial science, business analysis, and AWS technologies.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. Fellowship or Associate membership with a recognized actuarial organization (e.g., SOA, CAS).
3. Proven experience as a business analyst or actuarial analyst in the insurance or financial services industry.
4. Strong understanding of actuarial principles, insurance products, and risk management concepts.
5. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and model development.
6. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. AWS certification would be nice to have
